Freshman speedster Jahiem White has been named a Freshman All-American after receiving two different All-American nods from the College Football Network (First Team) and The Athletic (Second Team). The West Virginia Mountaineers running back totaled 110 yards against Dusquesne in his first action of the season and then had a breakout game against the BYU Cougars where he gained 146 yards on just 16 carries.

In White’s final four games of the season - against the BYU Cougars, Oklahoma Sooners, Cincinnati Bearcats and Baylor Bears, White totaled 522 yards on just 63 carries, an explosive 8.23 yards per carry.

White’s speed and elusiveness were no better used than on the final offensive play of the year for the Mountaineers, where after starting center Zach Frazier was lost for the year to a broken ankle, White ran a wheel route and caught a game-winning touchdown that lifted the Mountaineers to a 34-31 win over the Baylor Bears.
