West Virginia Mountaineers safety Christion Stokes announced his intention to enter the transfer portal via Twitter (X)
First and foremost, I wanna thank God for blessing me with the ability and the opportunity to play this game and be able to make it to the next level.
I’d like to thank the staff and Mountaineer nation for the undying support and the opportunity to continue my career at the division one level. I would also like to thank Vince and his staff for pushing me to be a better version of myself. I appreciate all the support everyone has given me.
Thank you to all of my teammates who have pushed me and encouraged me to keep working. I consider all of you my brothers. All the memories we’ve shared and time we spent together will be something I’ll always remember.
After talking with my family, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
In three games this season, Stokes recorded 2 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
