Series History: Today marks the 21st meeting in the series, with WVU leading, 16-3-1. WVU is 9-2-1 in games played in Morgantown and 7-1 in Cincinnati. West Virginia won the final Big East meeting with the Bearcats as Geno Smith rallied the Mountaineers from a fourth-quarter deficit. Defensive back Eain Smith blocked Cincinnati’s game-tying field goal attempt, allowing WVU to escape Cincinnati with a 24-21 win over the No. 23 Bearcats.

2022 Record: 9-4 (6-2 AAC), lost to Louisville, 24-7, in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl

Current Record: 3-7 (1-6 Big 12), beat Houston last week, 24-14, in Houston.
