The West Virginia Mountaineers will wear a new-ish uniform combination when they don grey jerseys and grey pants for the second time under Neal Brown. This appears to be in honor of our fallen Americans in the devastating 9/11 attacks as Saturday’s game will be the 20th anniversary of that horrible day. It also appears to be in remembrance of all of our fallen military personnel who have spent the past 20 years fighting the war on terror. We honor those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The last time the Mountaineers wore this combination was against the Iowa State Cyclones in 2019. The Mountaineers were not victorious in that combination, falling to the Cyclones 38-14.
