This is an interesting look for the West Virginia Mountaineers, who choose to Stripe the Stadium this Saturday with their Reverse Striped Uniform Combination - Gold Helmets, Blue Jerseys and Gold Pants. It provides an alternating light-dark-light that does break up the combination. For me, this combination reminds me a lot of the Michigan Wolverines.

West Virginia started off hot in this combination, going 2-0 but are currently riding a two-game losing streak, which matches their current two-game losing streak to Texas Tech. Neal Brown will be looking for both his first win in this uniform combination and his first win over Texas Tech. Interestingly enough, the Mountaineers have tended to wear All Blues or Blue-Blue-White against the Red Raiders at home, so this will be the first time they’ve worn the gold helmets against the Red Raiders at home. The gold helmets have worked well against the Red Raiders on the road, where the Mountaineers have worn their Appy Tiger look in Lubbock, going 2-0 before last year’s debacle.
