West Virginia will kick off the season against regional rival Maryland Terrapins, a team the Mountaineers last faced in 2015 in a 45-6 beatdown. After FCS Long Island, the Mountaineers will look to finally beat the Virginia Tech Hokies. The last time the Mountaineers faced the Hokies was 2017 in Will Grier’s first game in the old gold and blue.
The first Big 12 conference game of the year will come against the Big 12’s perennial champion, the Oklahoma Sooners in Oklahoma. The Mountaineers will play Texas Tech at home and then traveling to Baylor as they begin conference play. The by week comes mid-way through the year.
The Mountaineers will finish the year with away games at TCU, then back to back home games between Iowa State and Oklahoma State. The final home game of the year against Texas is sandwiched between away tilts at Kansas State and the season finale against Kansas.
