In addition to tonight’s previously scheduled matchup against the Baylor Bears in Waco, the West Virginia men’s basketball program has announced the next two scheduled home games against TCU (Saturday, Jan. 16th) and Oklahoma State (Tuesday, Jan. 19th) have also been postponed.
In a brief statement released this afternoon, Bryan Messerly, West Virginia’s associate athletic directory of communications, stated the postponement is in response to the Mountaineers being unable to meet the required COVID-19 thresholdsestablished by the Big 12 Conference.
The statement goes on to add that West Virginia will work with the Big 12 Conference, TCU and Oklahoma State to reschedule the games.
Barring any additional postponements, the Mountaineers will return to action on Saturday, January 23rd, when they travel to Manhattan, Kansas to take on Bruce Weber’s Kansas State Wildcats. That game is currently scheduled to tip-off at 2:00PM ET and will be broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
