The Big 12 Conference announced today that West Virginia will play its Big 12 Conference home opener at noon EDT on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game will be broadcast on ABC from Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown. This will be the second-straight week WVU will feature on ABC.

The Mountaineers (1-0) travel to Oklahoma State for the Big 12 opener this Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The Bears (0-0) have seen their first two games of the season postponed due to coronavirus. They host Kansas in Waco at a 7:30 p.m. EDT start.

WVU went 1-4 in noon games in 2019, Neal Brown’s first season as head coach, 0-3 in noon conference games.

WVU lost its conference home opener last year to Texas, 31-42, but hope to secure a win against Baylor and first-year head coach Dave Aranda.

WVU leads the overall series 5-3 over BU, but the Bears held off the Mountaineers 17-14 on Halloween night last year in Waco, Texas. That result snapped WVU’s three-game winning streak.

Brown is 0-1 all-time as a head coach against Baylor. He and Aranda have met twice before, but never as head coaches. In 2017, Brown’s Troy Trojans upset the LSU Tigers when Aranda was the DC there. In 2015, Aranda was the DC at Wisconsin when the Badgers defeated Brown’s Troy team.
