Undefeated Noah Adams Leads West Virginia into Big 12 Championship

Mountaineers Grab Road Win at TTU

The West Virginia women’s basketball team earned a hard-fought road victory at Texas Tech on Wednesday, 71-69. A trio of Mountaineers scored in double figures in the win, as redshirt junior guard Kysre Gondrezick led the way with 19 points, followed by redshirt senior guard Tynice Martin with 16 points and sophomore forward Kari Niblack with 12 points.

West Virginia upends Iowa State...on the road

Despite a second half scoring lull, the West Virginia men’s basketball team found its missing moxie and was able to hold off a late comeback by Iowa State Tuesday night. WVU won 77-71, with sophomore forward Derek Culver and freshman guard Miles “Deuce” McBride leading the way with 17 points each.

Pre-Seeds Revealed for Big 12 Championship

Four members of the West Virginia wrestling team earned pre-seeds for the 2020 Big 12 Wrestling Championship. Redshirt sophomore Noah Adams enters the tournament as the #1 seed at 197 pounds. The Coal City, West Virginia, native finished the regular season with a perfect, 29-0 record.

WVU Baseball No-Hits Kent State

It has been 18 years since the West Virginia baseball team have thrown a nine-inning no-hitter and it almost occurred 18 years to the day. Four WVU pitchers, including three freshmen, combined for a no-hitter against Kent State last night.

Pre-Seeds Announced for Wrestling Championship.

The Big 12 Conference has released the pre-seeds ahead of the Big 12 Wrestling Championship set for March 7-8. Oklahoma State led the Conference with three #1 seeds, followed by two from Northern Iowa, while Iowa State, Oklahoma, Utah Valley, West Virginia, and Wyoming had one each.

62 track and field student-athletes from the Big 12 have qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. Six student-athletes will compete in multiple events.
