Young Mountaineer Baseball Team Looks to Build off of Last Season’s Success

West Virginia football adds two February signees

Neal Brown and his staff have added two more players to their 2020 signing class on February’s National Signing Day. The Mountaineers have added running back A’Varius Sparrow and bandit Eddie Watkins to their roster.

West Virginia wins at home again, beats Iowa State 76-61

Five players in double figures usually equals a win, and it did on Wednesday night in Morgantown. West Virginia dismantled Iowa State 76-61 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated.

Mazey Counting on Returnees and New Faces To Continue Program’s Success

The West Virginia baseball team is going to have a lot of new names on the roster this season. WVU head coach Randy Mazey will be counting on his experienced returners, such as catcher Paul McIntosh and second baseman Tyler Doanes, to lead the team.

Mountaineers Remain No. 3

The West Virginia rifle team continues to rank #3 in the College Rifle Coaches Association Rankings. The Mountaineers are 9-0, heading into their final match of the regular season against #1 Kentucky.

Smith Named Big 12 Co-Men’s Diver of the Week

Redshirt senior diver Austin Smith of the West Virginia men’s swimming and diving team has been named the Big 12 Co-Men’s Diver of the Week. The award is the second of Smith’s career.

Floor Exercise Lineup Nationally Ranked

The #26 West Virginia gymnastics team continues to rank in the top 25 of the Road to Nationals Rankings on floor exercise. The Mountaineers are ranked #21 on floor. WVU will face New Hampshire, George Washington, and Brown on Saturday.

Sunahara Announces Additions to 2021 Roster

The West Virginia volleyball team has brought in two transfers for next season. Emmy Ogogor from Illinois State and Alison Thomas from Cleveland State will now be Mountaineers.

The Big 12 Conference has announced that the conference baseball tournament will be returning to Arlington, Texas in 2022 for a three-year run at Globe Life Field, the soon-to-be home of the Texas Rangers.

Bane Included on Watch List for Jerry West Award

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced TCU’s Desmond Bane as one of the top 10 candidates for the 2020 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1980 Hall of Famer, 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player, and West Virginia basketball legend Jerry West, the annual honor recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men’s college basketball.

Likekele double-double leads Oklahoma State past TCU 72-57

Isaac Likekele scored 15 points and 11 assists and for his first career double-double to help lead Oklahoma State to a 72-57 victory over TCU on Wednesday night. It was the first win in Big 12 play for Oklahoma State, which still sits in last place in the conference.
