Words aren’t enough, this team is in full disarray

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

Bob Huggins has lost this team folks. I can’t tell you why and I can’t tell you what is necessary to fix this, but this team is completely lost. In the beginning, the West Virginia Mountaineers held serve with the Oklahoma Sooners until Jamal Bieniemy hit a three-pointer that tied the game at 21 with 5:24 left in the first half. The Sooners would score the next four points and take a 25-21 lead into half time.

The Sooners were ready to play in the second half as they opened up a 36-27 lead before exploding to a 48-31 lead with 12:35 left. The game was over at that point but the Mountaineers would scrap their way getting as close to 65-57. Still their efforts were in vain and the team fell, again.

Stats That Matter

Ten different players played at least 14 minutes and 4 of the 5 starters played at least 20 minutes. In contrast, all five Oklahoma starters played at least 30 minutes.

The Mountaineers made 4 three-point shots out of 25 (16%).

Miles McBride was the only Mountaineer in double-digits (13).

Oscar Tshiebwe lead the team with 10 rebounds.
