GAME NOTES
- This will be the 19th meeting between West Virginia and Kansas. Kansas leads the series, 13-5. All 18 meetings have been since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 in 2012. In the Big 12 opener this season on Jan. 4 in Lawrence, Kansas defeated WVU, 60-53.
- In the latest NET rankings released this week by the NCAA, WVU checked in at No. 9 with a No. 4 strength of schedule.
- WVU’s opponents thus far have a combined winning percentage of .651 (356-191), the third highest in the country.
- In the latest NCAA statistics, WVU ranks first in offensive rebounds per game (15.2), second in 3-point FG% defense (27.6), third in FG% defense (37.0) and sixth in rebounds per game (41.4).
- Oscar Tshiebwe (9.1) and Derek Culver (8.9) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in Big 12 Conference rebounding.
- Culver (7.6) and Tshiebwe (6.2) are drawing a combined 13.8 fouls per 40 minutes per game. • West Virginia is rebounding 40.4% of its missed shots, ranking first nationally. The national average is 28.1 percent.
- Oscar Tshiebwe is fourth in the country in offensive rebound percentage, rebounding 17.8% of WVU’s missed shots.
- Derek Culver is 18th in the country in defensive rebounding percentage, rebounding 27.7% of opponent’s missed shots.
- Gabe Osabuohien leads WVU with 116 deflections (6.0 a game) and 19 charges taken.
