Stills, Smith Named FWAA All-Americans
West Virginia sophomore Tykee Smith and senior defensive tackle Darius Stills have been named to Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America Second Team. Stills, the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team honoree by the coaches and the AP, was named a first-team All-America selection by Associated Press, Sporting News, USA Today, Bleacher Report, and ESPN.

West Virginia senior defensive tackle Darius Stills and sophomore Tykee Smith have been named to Sporting News’ All-America First and Second Teams, respectively. Smith, an All-Big 12 First Team selection by the AP, was named to Pro Football Focus’ First Team All-America squad, Sporting News’ Second Team, and the AP All-America Third Team.

Isaiah Cottrell out for season with torn Achilles tendon
West Virginia freshman forward Isaiah Cottrell is out for the rest of the season after sustaining a torn Achilles tendon in the #9 Mountaineers’ victory over Northeastern on Tuesday. The injury occurred early in the contest on an off-ball play in the first half. Cottrell appeared to step awkwardly on his left foot and subsequently limped off the floor.
Tshiebwe ends cold streak, newcomers earn minutes in win over Huskies
The #9 Mountaineers dominated Northeastern while giving newcomers minutes off the bench. WVU head coach Bob Huggins utilized the late scheduling of Northeastern to give some of his young players, such as Jalen Bridges, opportunities to gain minutes on the floor in the 73-51 victory.
