The Big 12 Conference announced late Sunday that West Virginia football’s game at Iowa State on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Ames, Iowa, will start at 3:30 p.m. ET, and broadcast on ESPN. The game was flexed to the six-day window last week and the decision was made just before the deadline.

The Mountaineers (5-3, 4-3) had an unexpected bye week after their game against Oklahoma was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak. The Cyclones (7-2, 7-1) picked up a pivotal win 23-20 over Texas in Austin, allowing them to start making travel plans to Arlington, Texas, on December 19.

WVU leads the all-time series 5-3, which has only been contested in Big 12 games. ISU has two wins in a row, though. Despite no prior history, the game has become a rivalry matchup.

The Cyclones notched their largest win in series history last year in Morgantown, prevailing 38-14. For three years in a row, WVU has failed to score more than 20 points against ISU.

Neal Brown’s team will be glad to play their final road game this season. WVU is winless away from Morgantown in 2020.
