The Big 12 Conference today announced that the West Virginia-Oklahoma football game scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 28, will be postponed to Saturday, Dec. 12. OU has temporarily shut down football activities after multiple positive COVID-19 tests in the squad.
Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reported the OU news shortly after this announcement from the conference.
The Sooners have temporarily paused organized team activities due to recent positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing.

When the conference released its revised schedule in August, it left the December 12 date open for all teams to allow for COVID-postponed games to take place on that date. WVU will host OU on that date given no other postponements or COVID-19 problems. Kickoff time and broadcast info will be determined later, but WVU will miss out on its first home night game of the season this weekend.
“I am disappointed for both teams, who have worked extremely hard in their preparation for this weekend’s game,” WVU Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said in the release. “We will now look forward to honoring our seniors and hosting the Sooners on December 12.”
This is the first time WVU has had a game postponed due to coronavirus since the 2020 season began. This is also the first time OU has had to adjust its schedule for COVID-19 since the season started.
