• The series between West Virginia and Kansas started in 1941 with a 21-0 WVU win in Morgantown. The last meeting took place in Lawrence with West Virginia winning 29-24. The Mountaineers lead the series, 8-1.
• West Virginia is the only Power 5 school in the nation to rank in the Top 20 in rushing defense, passing defense, total defense, scoring defense and red zone defense.
