GAME NOTES
- This will be the 16th meeting between West Virginia and Oklahoma State with the Cowboys holding an 8-7 series lead. The first meeting in the series took place at the Kentucky Invitational on Dec. 19, 1958, with the No. 7-ranked Mountaineers coming away with a 67-59 victory.
- The Mountaineers have won six of the last 10 in the series, however, the Cowboys have won the last three and the last three in Morgantown (85-77 on Jan. 12, 2019, 88-85 on Feb. 10, 2018 and 82-75 on Feb. 4, 2017). West Virginia has won four of the last five meetings at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
- After Monday’s game, West Virginia will be at home for four of its next five games and six of of its next eight contests.
- The Mountaineers have been ranked 102 weeks in the AP poll under Bob Huggins, including 37 weeks in the AP Top 10. Huggins has had WVU ranked more weeks than any other coach in school history.
- Gabe Osabuohien leads WVU with 53 deflections (43 in last five games) and eight charges taken entering Big 12 play.
- With a win at Oklahoma State on Dec. 29, 2017, Bob Huggins moved past Jim Phelan on the NCAA Division I winningest coaches list. Huggins’ record now stands at 871-364 in his 37th season as a head coach. He needs five more victories to tie Adolph Rupp for seventh place all-time.
