Key Players: G Desmond Bane, G RJ Nembhard, C Kevin Samuel
KEYS TO THE GAME:
The Mountaineers mountains, Oscar Tshiebwe and Derek Culver, will get to match up against a true-big man, Kevin Samuel. Samuel is one of the few big men in the country that has the “C” next to his name instead of the all encompassing forward designation.
At 6’ 11” and 250 pounds, Samuel is first in blocks in the Big 12 at almost three per game. He also scores 10 points per game and grabs about 9 rebounds. The matchup down-low should be a good one.
HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)
Three. TCU has beat the bottom of the Big 12 so far this season but WVU is battle tested and has proven to be one of the best (probably the best) defensive teams in the country. This is far different from the young and uninspired teams that got blown out at TCU last season and needed three overtimes to put them in Morgantown in February.
PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG
West Virginia 62, TCU 49
