Three Guarantees For West Virginia Against Kansas

The Mountaineers travel to Lawrence to face Les Miles and the resurgent (?) Kansas Jayhawks

Somebody Will See This Game, Maybe?

The West Virginia Mountaineers game against the Kansas Jayhawks will NOT be televised on ESPN, ABC, FoxSports, NBC or CBS. It’s going to be streamed. If you want to watch the game, you will need to have a subscription to ESPN+.

Use the link above to watch the game, then come gripe with me as I complain about lag so I can’t hear what the announcers are getting wrong. It will be an experience for everyone but one we should get used to. The basketball team just announced its schedule and FIVE conference games are going to be streamed on ESPN+ including both Kansas games. It’s a digital world we live in now.

Les Miles Will Have The Jayhawks Ready

Les Miles DGAF. Miles broke out a brand new gameplan for the Jayhawks as they took on Boston College and the Jayhawks looked like a team on a mission. They went into Boston College and shut them down in the second half while outscoring BC 41-7 in the last three quarters. For the first time in a decade, the Jayhawks look like a team with an identity and focus. Typically when the Mountaineers have played in Lawrence, their have been 7 fans in the stands and it looks and sounds more like a practice than an actual college game. The Jayhawks had 32,000 fans in the stands for the first two games and now coming off a big road win with a chance to get halfway to bowl eligibility, look for a rowdy crowd that feeds off their energy and gives the Mad Hatter some extra confidence.

The Winning Team Is 50% To Bowl Eligibility

Think about that for a second. After 4 games into the season, either the Jayhawks or the Mountaineers will be at 3 wins and halfway to securing a bowl berth. The bowl game itself isn’t important, but those extra practices and reps for players is. Both teams have to have six wins as their goal this season and getting halfway there is a big step. Kansas blew a golden opportunity with their loss to Coastal Carolina but made up for it last week against Boston College. Kansas is probably going to struggle the next 3 weeks against TCU, OU and Texas, but after that, if they can steal a game against Baylor, ISU or OSU, there isn’t a reason that a bowl berth isn’t in the cards for the ‘Hawks. As for the Mountaineers, a win here gives them 2 in a row and then they get a bye before hosting the Texas Longhorns. It might be the springboard they need as well.
