The Big 12 Media Days are happening now in Dallas. That means that pre-season awards are released and lineman Colton McKivitz is the lone representative for the West Virginia Mountaineers. McKivitz is a honorable mention, which is a stark contrast from 2018 when several Mountaineers were named to the All Big 12 team.

Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Kenneth Murray was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year and former Alabama Crimson Tide starting quarterback Jalen Hurts who transferred to Oklahoma this offseason was tabbed at the Newcomer of the Year.
