The former quickest hands in Mountaineer history will have a new home next year

Former West Virginia Mountaineer and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Jevon Carter has been traded, along with Kyle Korver, to the Phoenix Suns for De’Anthony Melton Josh Jackson, a 2020 second-round pick and a 2021 conditional second-round pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Carter, the 32nd pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, spent time between the G-League Memphis Hustle and the NBA squad Memphis Grizzlies. Carter showed promise in the G-League and made his official debut on December 15, 2018 in a 97-105 loss to the Houston Rockets. Carter electrified the crowd once he entered the game and finished with 11 points, two steals, a rebound and a block. On April 10, he scored a career high 32 points in a 132-117 win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors. He finished with 32 points, four rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

For his first year, Carter averaged 4.4 points per game and 0.7 steals per game in 14 minutes. Stay Tuned for more on Carter.
