Nike drops the new Air Zoom Pegasus 36 WVU shoe!

Folks, we’re just over a month away from the start of the 2019 West Virginia football season, which means it’s also time get your gameday gear ready.

In each of the last two seasons, Nike has dropped some WVU-themed shoes (2017, 2018) for Mountaineer fans to show their support for our team, and they’re back again with what is my personal favorite, thus far.

We’re all well aware of West Virginia’s new look for the 2019 season, which features the return of the dark gray uniforms. This year’s shoe utilizes the colorway from those uniforms — dark gray and blue — to give us a super clean sneaker that can be worn all year round. This year’s shoe will pair well with almost any casual outfit.

This year’s shoe features more perforations and engineered mesh in the upper for targeted breathability across high-heat areas. A slimmer heel collar and tongue with the Flying WV logo reduce bulk without compromising comfort, while exposed Flywire cables give you a snug fit at higher speeds. The insoles are emblazoned with the words “Hail West Virginia”, a nod to the Mountaineers’ fight song.
