Texas A&M Disposes of Fordham in Elimination Game

The Aggies are still alive in the Morgantown Regional

The Texas A&M Aggies made quick work of the Fordham Rams in the elimination game of the Morgantown Regional winning 11-2. The Aggies scored 5 runs in the first inning, including three off the bat of Hunter Coleman, who deposited a pitch over the left-center fence. Coleman would finish with two homeruns while his brother Trevor also hit a homerun.

The Aggies bats were alive all game, as the team hit 4 homeruns in the first three innings and collected 13 hits.

Aggie starter Asa Lacy kept the Rams off the base paths for most of the game. The Rams didn’t have a hit until the fifth inning, which was actually their first hit since the third inning of the West Virginia game, a span of 33 at-bats. The Ram finally got on the board in the 6th inning. Lacy would go 7 innings, striking out 7 of the 26 batters he faced while allowing only 3 hits and the 1 earned run.

The Aggies will now face the loser of tonight’s West Virginia-Duke matchup in the elimination game tomorrow at noon. The winner of that game will play the winner of tonight’s game at 6 PM on Sunday. If necessary a final do-or-die game will be played on Monday.
