West Virginia among star-studded lineup for 2020 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament

Bob Huggins will have a full season to get the Mountaineers turned around from their 2018 showing before having to play the likes of Duke and Ohio State in the Bahamas.

According to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers will be included in the field of teams in the 2020 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, alongside Duke, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Utah, Creighton, Wichita State, and a team yet to be determined.

The event will mark West Virginia’s first appearance, as well as Ohio State and Creighton’s. The other programs announced have played in the tournament at least once since its inception in 2011, with Duke winning the championship game in 2012. Participating teams are awarded $2 million each for playing in the tournament.

The tournament will be held during the week of Thanksgiving in the Imperial Arena at Atlantis Paradise Island on Paradise Island in Nassau. Exact dates and ticket information are expected be released this coming November.

The 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament will take place November 27-29th, and features North Carolina, Oregon, Michigan, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Seton Hall, Alabama, and Southern Miss.
