  • For the fourth year in a row, the Mountaineer senior Madelin Gardner is going to represent the West Virginia track and field team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the pole vault. The Williamstown, West Virginia, native only needed one attempt to tie for first place and earn a spot in the NCAA Championships. Gardner has had a spectacular, and record-breaking, season and career for WVU. The Mountaineer senior is on track to be a four-time All-American, and can hopefully cap off her career with an NCAA Championship in the pole vault.

  • Two former Mountaineers are preparing for their second FIFA Women’s World Cup. WVU greats Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence will be heading to France to play for the Canadian Women’s National Team in June. The two defenders helped lead the Mountaineers to the 2016 College Cup Final during their careers, and now they have another opportunity to lead the Canadian Women’s National Team to a FIFA Women’s World Cup Final.

  • Tight ends aren't done playing a part in the receiving aspect of West Virginia football just because Trevon Wesco has moved on to the NFL. Mountaineer junior Jovani Haskins looks to have a breakout season this fall, and he will also have a group of fellow tight ends behind him that have a lot of potential. Neal Brown may also use fullbacks, as “S-backs,” in his offensive scheme.
