Former WVU DB Adam “Pacman” Jones retires from NFL

After time bouncing around from team to team in the NFL, former West Virginia cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has retired.

Likely better remembered by WVU fans for his post-college legal troubles than his time as a Mountaineer, Jones still retires as one of the program’s longest standing NFL players.

He may not have been the biggest mark of pride for many West Virginia fans, but we’ll always have this punt return against East Carolina in 2004:

Jones was drafted by the Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft and played three seasons there. He was then traded to the Cowboys and only played a season there before being released.

After a year away from the game, Jones finally found a home in Cincinnati where he played out eight seasons, highlighted by the 2015 AFC Wild Card game when Jones attempted to punch then-Steelers assistant Joey Porter in the closing seconds.

He played in seven of ten games for the Broncos in 2018 before being released on Nov. 20.
