After a record-breaking 10-1 win over George Washington on Thursday, the WVU baseball team will take the night off with some pretty bad looking thunderstorms rolling in.
The university announced this afternoon that today’s game would be cancelled and not made up. Looking at what the weather was supposed to look like at first pitch tonight, it makes total sense.

The Mountaineers (33-18) will play their final game on Saturday as scheduled at 2 p.m.
With their Big 12 schedule concluded, West Virginia stands at fourth in the league. If Oklahoma State drops their two remaining games to Baylor, WVU would move up to third for the conference tournament in OKC. If TCU sweeps Texas Tech, WVU would fall to fifth. Just about every other scenario locks them up at four.
There are also a ton of series with NCAA Regional hosting implications for the Mountaineers as well as the possibility of Texas losing their way out of the conference tournament, so there’s still plenty of college baseball to take in today.
