BREAKING: West Virginia set to add Bowling Green transfer QB Jarret Doege

After not being satisfied with what he saw from his quarterbacks in the Spring, Neal Brown turned to the transfer market to round out the QB room

As we reported in our Mountaineer Links on Monday, West Virginia head coach Neal Brown was not happy with what he saw from the Mountaineer quarterback after Spring workouts and was looking to add a fourth scholarship signal caller to the QB room, with Bowling Green transfer Jarret Doege being the most likely candidate.

According to a new report from 247Sports’ Mike Casazza, Mike confirms Doege will in fact be enrolling at West Virginia in the very near future.

Doege started every game for Bowling Green last season, and threw for 2,660 yards and 27 touchdowns with a 62.6% completion percentage. Doege will be entering his true Junior season.

While NCAA rules state that transfers have to sit out their first season at their new school, unless they’re graduate transfers, sources tell us that Doege will seek an NCAA waiver to gain immediate eligibility.
