While the 2019 West Virginia Gold-Blue Spring game could be considered a success — with the debut of new uniforms in front of the third largest West Virginia spring game crowd — the biggest win of the day for head coach Neal Brown came afterwards when Bay City, Michigan wide receiver Devell Washington gave his verbal commitment to the Mountaineers.

The 6’4”, 215 lb wide out announced his top five last Tuesday, with the Mountaineers making the cut alongside Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Purdue. Washington announced his commitment via Twitter following the conclusion of the Spring game.

Washington becomes the third commit in West Virginia’s 2020 recruiting class, joining quarterback Garrett Greene and fellow wide receiver Reese Smith. Devell holds a three-star, 0.8689 247Sports Composite rating.
