The West Virginia Mountaineers (11-17, 3-12 Big 12) snapped their five-game losing streak in the most dramatic fashion possible, a 101-96 triple overtime thriller over Jamie Dixon’s TCU Horned Frogs (18-10, 6-9 Big) this evening in Morgantown.

The Mountaineers may have actually won the game on a missed goaltending call with 24 seconds left in regulation that was ultimately called a shot clock violation. TCU ended up turning the ball over on the ensuing possession, and Jordan McCabe missed an attempt at the game winner to send the game into overtime.

McCabe recorded his first career double-double with 25 points, 11 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds to lead West Virginia. Derek Culver finished with 22 points and 21 rebounds, becoming the first Mountaineer to record 20 points and 20 rebounds since Maurice Robinson did so in 1978 against City College of New York.

Jermaine Haley finished 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Lamont West and Chase Harler finished with 17 points and 13 points, respectively.

West Virginia travels to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners on Saturday. That game tips off at 2:00PM EST and will be broadcast on ESPNU. The Mountaineers won the first game of the season series, 79-71, on February 2nd in Morgantown.
