The Big 12 Conference announced their postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon, and five West Virginia Mountaineers were recognized for their performance on the field in the 2019 season.

Senior offensive lineman Colton McKivitz earned top honors, being named the Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year alongside Oklahoma’s Creed Humphrey and All-Big 12 First Team Offense. McKivitz started in 47 games as a Mountaineer, finishing No. 3 all-time in the West Virginia record books for career starts.

Joining McKivitz with All-Big 12 First Team honors is junior defensive lineman Darius Stills. Stills started 11-of-12 games for West Virginia at nose tackle this season and racked up 47 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Stills is currently weighing a decision to enter the 2020 NFL Draft, with a decision to hopefully come in the next couple weeks. In addition to his All-Big 12 First Team honors, Stills also received an honorable mention for Defensive Lineman of the Year.

In addition to McKivitz and Stills, three more Mountaineers received honors on Wednesday. Josh Norwood, Dante Stills and Keith Washington II were named to the All-Big 12 Second Team defense.

Norwood played in 10 games and totaled 37 solo tackles, 27 assists, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception and 6 pass breakups. Dante Stills played in all 12 games for the Mountaineers in 2019, and finished the season with 14 solo tackles, 11 assists, 11.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 1 pass breakup, and 1 forced fumble. Washington finished with 17 solo tackles, 7 assists, 3 interceptions, 9 pass breakups and 1 fumble recover in 10 games.

In addition to those earning first and second team honors, four more Mountaineers earned honorable mentions. Josh Chandler and Sam James were both named All-Big 12 honorable mention. James was also named an honorable mention for Offensive Freshman of the Year. Punter Josh Growden was named honorable mention for Special Teams Player of the Year, while Tykee Smith was considered for Defensive Freshman of the Year.
