West Virginia’s offensive lineman Colton McKivitz has earned All-America accolades from the Associated Press. The left tackle appeared on the third-team All-America roster, after gaining co-offensive lineman of the year honors from the Big 12.
West Virginia senior running back Martell Pettaway has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. In 32 games over four seasons for WVU, Pettaway rushed for 1,104 yards and had 11 touchdowns.
The 2020 recruiting class is closing well for Neal Brown and his West Virginia Mountaineers. Jordan White, a three-star offensive lineman from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, has committed to WVU.
West Virginia’s offensive line rebuild continued with a commitment from junior college offensive tackle Tairiq Stewart this week. Stewart, a three-star prospect, picked WVU over offers from Maryland, Tennessee, and Toledo.

The West Virginia men’s basketball team jumped into the Associated Press Top-25 Poll this week in the #25 spot. The Mountaineers are also #12 in this season’s first iteration of the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings, which factors in game results, the quality of wins and losses, scoring margin, strength of schedule, offensive and defensive efficiency, and game location.
The West Virginia men’s basketball team cruised to an 83-57 win over Nicholls State at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday. WVU was led by forwards Derek Culver and Oscar Tshiebwe, who both had double-doubles in the blowout win. The Mountaineers and their fans remained invested in the game despite the blowout, as the entire Coliseum cheered on freshman guard Spencer Macke when he scored his first career points in the final minutes of the game.
