The game also marks the end of an era, as it is the last West Virginia game that will be aired on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.

Another school named after a southern governor comes to the Coliseum on Saturday. Nicholls State, named after former Louisiana governor “Francis Redding “Tillou” Nicholls, brings their 6-4 record to Morgantown at 2 pm.

Nicholls shares common opponents with the Mountaineers this season. The Colonels beat lowly, terrible, awful, dastardly Pitt 75-70 but lost to Rhode Island 70-65. The Mountaineers whipped Pitt 68-53 and Rhode Island 86-81.

While the win over Pitt is a win over a division one opponent, Nicholls also has four of its six wins against NAIA powerhouses Paul Quinn, Blue Mountain College, Division 2 Campbellsville University of Harrodsburg and NCCAA member Carver College.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Mountaineers are bigger, stronger and more skilled than this Nicholls State team. Nicholls is currently ranked 322 in total rebounds, the Mountaineers are currently ranked third nationally.

West Virginia needs to continue to gel on both ends of the floor and needs to continue to search for some consistency from beyond the arc. WVU is currently 192nd in 3-point percentage at 32.5 percent.

Against Austin Peay West Virginia was able to get out in transition. Offensive draughts have been a problem for this team, if they can find a way to get out in transition like we have seen in spurts this season.

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)
