Senior lineman Colton McKivitz will get the chance to showcase his skills in front of NFL personnel and coaches now that he has accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl. The West Virginia Mountaineers lineman has been a steadying presence on a line that has dealt with adversity this season. When new head coach Neal Brown speaks to the press on Tuesdays, he routinely praises the senior from Jacobsburg, Ohio.
McKivitz is a three-year starter at tackle, having played 38 career games and started 35. He also is a two time All Big 12 Honorable mention selection and a three time Academic All Big 12 Second Team selection. He was selected as a First Team All Big 12 Freshman selection by Athlon Sports and a Second Team All Big 12 selection by Phil Steele.
McKivitz is likely just the first Mountaineer to accept a selection to the Senior Bowl. Last year, the Mountaineers sent a team-record five players to the All-Star Showcase.
