GAME NOTES
- The series between West Virginia and Kansas State started in 1930 with a 23-7 WVU win in Morgantown. The last meeting took place in 2018 in Morgantown, with WVU winning 35-6. since entering the Big 12 in 2012, Kansas State holds a 4-3 lead, winning the first four before dropping the last three. K-State leads the overall series, 5-4, including a 2-1 mark in games played in Mahanattan.
- Redshirt freshman wide receiver Sam James finished with a career-high 14 receptions for 223 yards vs. Texas Tech to register WVU’s third 100-yard receiving performance of the season and second of his career. James’ 14 receptions are tied for No. 2 in single-game program history and were the most in a game since Kevin White caught 16 passes at Texas on Nov. 8, 2014.
- West Virginia is No. 2 in the conference in TFL yards (250), sack yards (165) and sacks per game (2.9).
