West Virginia football will have its first appearance on FOX’s new Big Noon Saturday on Saturday, Oct. 19, when the Mountaineers travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to play Oklahoma, the Big 12 Conference announced this morning. The noon time slot has been the network’s feature game this season.

The Mountaineers (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) host Iowa State this Saturday and the Sooners (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) battle Texas in the Red River Showdown.

WVU starting QB Austin Kendall will return to Norman, where he spent three years as a backup to Heisman Trophy winners Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray.

OU holds a 9-2 series lead over WVU and has won seven in a row since the two became conference foes in the Big 12. Last year, the Sooners out-gunned the Mountaineers 59-56 in Morgantown. The last game in Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman was a 59-31 blowout in favor of the Sooners back in 2017.

WVU has not defeated OU since 2008 in the Fiesta Bowl, a 48-28 victory in the BCS Bowl.

This will be the first meeting between Neal Brown and Lincoln Riley. Both coaches previously worked at Texas Tech in their careers, but not at the same time.
