The West Virginia athletic department officially released the 2020 football schedule this morning after the Big 12 Conference released dates for in-conference play.

WVU will start its season on Saturday, Sept. 5, in against Florida State in Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff. This will be the second time the Mountaineers will start their season in Atlanta and the fourth time in seven years they will start at a neutral site.
The home opener will be on Saturday, Sept. 12, as WVU hosts Eastern Kentucky. The next Saturday, Sept. 19, WVU will host rival Maryland.
The Big 12 opener against Kansas State on Saturday, Sept. 26, in Morgantown will also be the Homecoming game—the third home game in a row.
October 2020 looks to be a drop in difficulty compared to previous seasons. WVU will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to play Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 3, then come home to play TCU on Oct. 10. WVU will travel back to Texas to play Texas in Austin on Oct. 17, then return to Morgantown on Oct. 24 to host Kansas.
Mountaineer Week will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 7, as Oklahoma comes to Morgantown. WVU then travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face Oklahoma State on Nov. 14. The final home game will be against Baylor on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The Riot Bowl returns to Thanksgiving Weekend in 2020, as the Mountaineers travel to Ames, Iowa, to take on Iowa State on Saturday, Nov. 28.
Notably, there are no Thursday or mid-week games on the 2020 schedule.
