Neal Brown addressed Tom Bragg on his coaches call today and informed the media that quarterback Austin Kendall would be questionable heading into the game against the Oklahoma Sooners. Kendall, who was injured against the Iowa St. Cyclones, will throw today and Brown will make a determination on his status today and will provide an update tomorrow.
If Kendall is able to go, he gives the West Virginia Mountaineers the best chance to win from a decision making standpoint, while his backup, Jack Allison provides a stronger arm and the ability to stretch a defense deep.
In the wings is quarterback Jarret Doege, who was granted eligibility late into the summer. Brown has stated that the plan is to redshirt Doege but given the new redshirt rule, the last three games of the season plus a possible bowl game could be enough time to give Doege a four game interview to see if he is the man heading into 2020.
