West Virginia Announces Addition Of Jordan Lesley To Mountaineer Coaching Staff

Lesley will follow Coach Brown and Vic Koenning to Morgantown from Troy

The pieces to Neal Brown’s assistant coaching puzzle are starting to fall into place, and should be mostly in place this week. West Virginia announced the addition of Troy defensive line coach Jordan Lesley to the Mountaineer staff this afternoon. The official release from the University only lists Lesley as an assistant coach on the defensive side of the ball, but he is expected to serve as the defensive line coach for the Mountaineers.

Lesley comes to Morgantown after spending the last three seasons with Brown and defensive coordinator Vic Koenning at Troy. In 2018, the Trojans finished No. 10 nationally in sacks, No. 16 in tackles for loss, No. 24 in rushing defense, No. 28 in scoring defense and No. 31 in total defense. Three of Lesley’s defensive linemen were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference team, with Trevon Saunders earning first-team honors.

Prior to his time in Troy, Lesley served as the defensive coordinator at Eastern Mississippi C.C., where he coached future Mountaineer defensive lineman Ezekiel Rose.
