West Virginia began a beautiful new tradition before Saturday’s game against Youngstown State

3

For those of us watching the Mountaineer Mantrip from the Blue Lot on Saturday or in the video package before the game kicked off on AT&T SportsNet, you may have noticed the West Virginia Mountaineers stopped at the top of the steps before entering Milan Puskar Stadium, turned and waved. What some may not realize, is who the Mountaineers were waving at.

Across the Blue Lot, on the sixth floor of Ruby Memorial Hospital, a group of WVU Medicine Children's patients sat and waved back to their gold and blue clad heroes.

West Virginia follows in the footsteps of Iowa's Kinnick Wave, showing the children and their families that the Mountaineers are with them through whatever challenges they're facing.
