Last year, WVU won both matchups against Penn State played in the stadium along the Allegheny River. The Mountaineers downed the Nittany Lions 4-2 and 3-2. Coach Randy Mazey expressed his excitement to play at a big-league park.
“We are really excited for the opportunity to play at PNC Park again in 2019,” said Mazey, “and looking forward to bringing the Backyard Brawl to one of the finest ballparks in all of Major League Baseball.”
The all-time record of the baseball Backyard Brawl sits in WVU’s favor, 107-88, and the Mountaineers have won four in a row, including a 12-1 drubbing last season.
