Take Me Home ‘19: Osita Smith Could Be The Next Great Safety For West Virginia

The West Virginia Mountaineers just secured a commitment from what could be their next great safety in a long line of them. Osita Smith, hailing from Columbia, MD, just outside of Baltimore, is a 247 four-star player who is ranked 193 in the nation.

Smith stands 6’-2 and weighs 205 which puts him on par with Kwantel Raines. The Mountaineers now have two guys who can absolutely terrorize the Big 12 quarterbacks with their height and their speed.

Smith becomes the sixth defensive back to join the Mountaineers following the commitments of Tykee Smith and Nicktroy Fortune, Kerry Martin, Amir Richardson and La’Darius Henry. The Mountaineers are on quite a roll as they now have four players ranked in the top 500 and two have come in the last week.
