The West Virginia Mountaineers will open the 2018 season with one of their favorite road combinations of Blue/White/Blue. After losing their first three games wearing this combination the Mountaineers have won two straight.
The first win was the most dramatic of the series, the 2015 Cactus Bowl win against the Arizona State Sun Devils. In a back and forth affair, former quarterback Skyler Howard threw a touchdown to David Sills to win the game 43-42.
The Mountaineers wore this combination once last year, against the Kansas Jayhawks where the offense put up 31 first downs, 635 total yards and 56 points.
In three games in this combination, Biletnikoff finalist last year David Sills has caught 11 passes for 209 yards and 4 touchdowns. That would be a good opening line for his 2018 campaign.
