According to reports, Jevon Carter has suffered a hand injury that will require surgery. Michael Wallace, a senior editor for the Memphis Grizzlies official website Grizzlies.com reported on Twitter.
Rookie point guard Jevon @nextlevel_03 Carter suffered a right thumb ligament rupture in what I'm hearing was a freak injury yesterday during a workout at Tim Grgurich's development camp in Las Vegas. Surgery required. Carter's thumb got caught in an opposing player's jersey.

This is a setback for Carter who is looking to make the Grizzlies roster after being drafted 32nd overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. Carter is expected to make a full recovery but we won’t know his full time table until he has surgery.
Carter played in all ten games for the Grizzlies in the NBA Summer League, averaging 11.4 points per game, 4.6 assist per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Carter’s best game came during the tournament at the end of the summer league against the Utah Jazz. Carter had 26 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. This game came right after he had 19 points, 8 assist and 8 rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
