Take Me Home ‘19: Top In-State Target Amir Richardson Joins Mountaineers

The University High standout will continue the tradition of talented safeties at West Virginia

Chris Anderson -

University High. Morgantown, WV. It’s destiny right? That isn’t always the case but it was here as University High standout Amir Richardson has made it known that he will continue to play football in college and it will be with the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Richardson is a two-way player for UHS. During his junior season, Richardson finished with 48 catches for 714 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 15 yards per catch. Defensively, he collected 42 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions.

Richardson already has the measurables to be the next great safety at West Virginia. Pairing him with Alliquippa native Kwantel Raines and Kenny Robinson, the Mountaineers appear to be in good hands for the foreseeable future.

But Richardson doesn’t just have scholarship offers from his home-state schools. Richardson excels in the classroom and that gained him scholarship offers from Darmouth, Harvard, Yale and Columbia.
