Doug Belk was brought to the Mountaineers to help them gain in-roads to Georgia and the fertile recruiting grounds that are the Peach State. Belk has already lived up to his billing as he has been able to secure several players. He previously helped secure slot receiver Winston Wright from Memorial Day School and this time he’s secured cornerback Nicktroy Fortune
Fortune gives the Mountaineers their first cornerback of the 2019 class. With no sophomores or freshmen on scholarship, getting scholarship bodies at cornerback in the pass-happy Big 12 has to be a priority for the staff.
“I am fully committed to West Virginia. ,” Fortune said. “I just felt like I was ready. I knew I wanted to get things out of the way with my recruitment before the season started. It feels great and I am just blessed for this opportunity to play.”
