The Wheeling, WV native was an All Big-12 second team performer as a sophomore, racking up 61 strikeouts over 47 innings of work. Against Kansas, Grove was perfect into the eighth inning before the Kansas Jayhawks broke up the bid.
Grove is the 87th Mountaineer to be drafted and the highest draft selection since Jedd Gyorko was drafted 59th overall by the San Diego Padres. Grove is also the 17th draft selection for head coach Randy Mazey since taking over the Mountaineer program.
The third through tenth rounds of the MLB Draft will be held today, Tuesday June 5th and the remaining rounds will be held on Wednesday June 6th.
