Like I predicted last year in October, the West Virginia Mountaineers will play at least three night games in 2018.

The first game will be against the Youngstown State Penguins at 6 PM on Saturday September 8. This game will likely be the Family Day promotion. The game will be broadcast on the schools Tier 3 partner ATT Sportsnet (the former Root Sports). The past two years Marc Bulger, the former signal caller for the Mountaineers has joined the broadcast.
The second home night game will happen at the end of October against the Baylor Bears. The Mountaineers and Bears will kickoff on Thursday, October 25 at 7 PM on FoxSports.
The second half of the season kicks off with a night game on Thursday against Baylor in Morgantown. A weekday home night game is just what the ‘Eers need to get those football juices flowing again. Lucky for the Mountaineers, they play Texas the following Saturday so they will have two extra days rest before taking on what could be the conference’s best defense next season.
The third night game will be against the preseason favorite for another Big 12 title, the Oklahoma Sooners. This time the Sooners will come to Morgantown without Samaje Perine and without Baker Mayfield. It could also be two teams either fighting for a spot in the Big 12 title game the following week.
The Mountaineers could be featured in more night games when they host the TCU Horned Frogs or when they travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma or Austin, Texas, but at least three games will be under the lights in Milan Puskar.
