Kyzir White taken No. 119 overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2018 NFL Draft

The hard-hitting safety is the first Mountaineer to hear his name called this year.

Former West Virginia Mountaineer safety Kyzir White will join his brother, Kevin White, in the National Football League after being selected 119th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 4th round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kyzir was a team-captain in 2017 for the Mountaineers, and follows the mold of recent West Virginia safeties with strong run support and hard hits while defending the intermediate passing routes. Kyzir has shown a willingness to stick his nose in run defense and punishes wide receivers who come across the middle of the field. White concluded a successful college career by finishing his senior year with 94 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 sack and 7.5 tackles for loss.

White will join former Mountaineer quarterback Geno Smith in Los Angeles.
