KEYS TO THE GAME

  • Press, Press, Press. The Cyclones we’ll see tonight seem like an ideal candidate to hit the Frustration Event Horizon within the first 7-8 minutes. They’re not going to have much of a bench available, so it’s time to wear them out with the press.
  • Jevon Carter. Ok, this isn’t really a “key to the game” but more of a “key of the game.” Jevon is going to get at least one assist, and will become the first player in school history to have more than 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)?

Four. Iowa State will only have six scholarship players on hand this evening. Now, before you yell at me and say “Yeah, but they didn’t have their best players when they killed us in Ames, either,” I know. This is a bit different though. The Cyclones still had something to play for a couple weeks ago. Now they’re just a battered and beaten down team in last place in the Big 12 Conference.

If a team held together by popsicle sticks and duct tape manages to beat us in Morgantown, we should probably just disband the program.

PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG

West Virginia wins, and it’s not even close.
